Our Mission Statement

Brief background to the club and its role in the community
 
  1. To organise and promote a cycling club in Bridgnorth, Shropshire that provides the widest variety of cycle and social related activities for the local community.
  2. To Affiliate the club to British Cycling.
  3. The club to be known as the Bridgnorth Cycle Club (BCC).
  4. To ensure that there are several weekly group rides for members of varying ability.
  5. To have a timetabled monthly program of Sportive events.
  6. To encourage members to compete in British Cycling Races.
  7. To have British Cycling qualified coaches in the BCC to assist with training programs.
  8. To aim to encourage female and under 23 years of age members as a priority.
  9. To hold monthly Social meetings to encourage social cohesion of the club.
  10. To involve the club in community activities.
  11. Induction road riding course for new riders given by experienced club members.

Weekly Rides

Bridgnorth Cycle Club, offers cycling of all levels and abilities. Whether you are young or old, fast or slow, you will be made to feel very welcome with a selection of rides to suit. You don’t have to be a member before you ride with us, though if you enjoy it and return for a few rides we ask that you do become a member.
Please Note:
Any under 18 riders must be accompanied on all club rides by a parent or legal guardian.
Any under 18 riders who present themselves unaccompanied for club rides will not be allowed to ride and it would be the responsibility of the parent/legal guardian for the collection of the rider.

 

Sunday Social Club road rides
We meet at Innage Lane Car Park every Sunday morning, rides start at 9.15am all year round. As a guide, you can take part in up to three rides as a guest rider to enable you to decide if you would like to become a member of our club.

  • A Fast Group cover 50- 60 miles at an average pace between 18mph & 21mph, for those who are strong riders, non drop ride.
  • B + Intermediate Group cover 40-60 miles at an average pace of between 16mph & 18mph, for confident riders looking to improve their speed/fitness and group riding, non drop ride with a cafe stop
  • B Competent Group cover 30-40 miles an average pace of between 13mph & 15mph, for those looking to develop into cycling, non drop ride with a cafe stop
  • C Beginners group 30-35 miles for those looking for a leisurely no drop ride with cafe stop.

 

Tuesday evening Chain gang / Training Club ride (Summer Only)

Meet at Innage Lane Car Park every Tuesday evening (summer only) ride starts 6:00pm, for racers and regular confident riders looking to improve their speed/fitness and group riding. Garmin ROUTE

Tuesday evening Club MTB ride

Meet at Clee Cycles every Tuesday evening ride starts 6:30pm.

 

Thursday evening Club MTB ride

Meet at Innage Lane every Thursday evening ride starts 6:30pm.
